かねてからローリング・ストーンズの熱烈なファンであったというマーティン・スコセッシ監督が、2006年秋にニューヨークのビーコン・シアターで行われたストーンズのライヴに密着し、舞台裏まで追ったライヴ・ドキュメンタリー映画の「Shine A Light」。第58回ベルリン国際映画祭のオープニング作品としても注目を集めた同作品の公開に合わせて、発売が決定したサントラ盤『Shine A Light』の詳細が明らかになった。

上はその問題のＣＤ。タイトルは「Shine A Light」。各方面で散々取り上げられてきたローリング・ストーンズの新しいＣＤであると同時にマーティン・スコセッシ監督によるロック・コンサート・ドキュメンタリー映画『Shine A Light』のサントラでもあります。音源は2006年秋のニューヨークのビーコン・シアターでの演奏。当時のセットリストは公開されていますので、大方収録曲は予想できたのでありますが、実際に公式に発表、更に新作のジャケットも公開となりました。
